Spring has just begun but the cold of winter isn’t gone yet, and for many residents in Southern Maine and New Hampshire’s Seacoast, the heat is still turned on at home. Still, for many others, this means worrying about how they will be able to afford the fuel necessary to heat their homes. Together with its employees and the community, SIS Bank is therefore proud to announce its recent donation of 1,000 gallons of fuel for 10 deserving families. In addition, SIS collected extra funds to be donated to the Salvation Army fuel fund.

For the sixth year in a row, the staff at the Main Office, South Sanford and Springvale branches together collected their own money to provide families in need with 100 gallons of heating fuel each for the winter season. The Bank donated an additional $500, and two anonymous SIS business customers who work closely with these three branches also contributed money to the cause. In total, $3,057.80 was collected, and after the 1,000 gallons of fuel purchase, the remaining $268.70 was donated to the Salvation Army fuel fund.

“These donations come at a crucial time for residents, when the cost of staying warm can be such a burden,” said SIS Bank President & CEO Blaine Boudreau. “We are so humbled by our employees and our customers for their continued generosity and charitable spirit, which has allowed us to help so many local families this season.”
